Parent Center
The Parent Center is a weekly playgroup for 3-5 year olds and their parents or caretakers. It is designed to give Cheshire families the opportunity to meet other families and/or discuss questions or concerns they may have about their 3-5 year old child’s development.
It is a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to play together in a uniquely child-centered environment and meet other families with young children. Available staff may include early childhood, special education and kindergarten teachers, speech/language pathologist, occupational or physical therapists, a school psychologist and a registered nurse.
The Parent Center also functions as a setting for families who have specific concerns about their child’s development, or have been referred by physicians or other professionals. This initial screening may, if necessary, lead to a more formal individual evaluation to determine the possible need for specialized intervention.
The Parent Center meets on Friday’s at 10:00 am during the school year at Darcey School.
