This year's Grade 8 Promotion Ceremony will be on [to be determined], on the Cheshire High School Turf Field and it will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. Parents should bring students to CHS, and students should be seated with their Teams no later than 8:15 a.m. We have the field until 10:00 a.m. with the ceremony lasting approximately one hour and then students will be able to leave with their parents and do not have to return to school. The PTA will have a table with bottled waters and programs for families.
Please remember that students should dress as follows:
Boys: dress shirt, tie, pants or nice shorts
Girls: dress, skirt or pants with a nice top
Everyone: no sneakers, flip flops or jeans, please
Please remember that students should adhere to dress code standards per the Student Handbook.
Given the nature of the surface of the Turf Field it is extremely important that high heels are not worn.
We have arranged for Lifetouch Photographers to be at the Ceremony and they will have photos available for purchase via their website a few days after Promotion. There will be both general ceremony photos, as well as photos of the individual students receiving their certificates. Photo access
Parking will be in the Senior Parking Lot by the upper softball field, and we will have handicap parking at the lower parking lot closest to the turf field.
There will be another parking area on Elmwood Drive (at the back of the football field) where senior citizens may park as it is closer to the event location.
The CHS Seniors will be using the field for their graduation rehearsal so we need to vacate the premises by 10:00 a.m.
In addition, only those chairs provided by the school may be used on the turf.
In the event that it rains, the Promotion will be indoors at CHS and only two guests per student will be allowed to attend.
